The separation of tasks with intensive data mining from the ongoing production supports smooth production processes and creates the basis for a powerful KPI reporting system with the shortest possible response times.

The production itself is organized with a highly available OLTP database (Online Transaction Processing) which primarily ensures the functionality of the production execution in the daily production routine. Due to the different and clearly separable tasks, the memory management and data structures of an OLTP database are fundamentally different from those of an MDWH.
